Growth helps updated homes and ignores the rest
A rising market lifts finished properties. Buyers relocating into Columbus are shopping for something they can move into, and they will compete for it.
An un-updated century-old home does not participate in that. It attracts buyers who need financing at the lower end of the market, which brings appraisals and required-repair lists into a house you were selling because you could not fund repairs.
That gap between "the market is strong" and "my particular house will not sell" is the most common confusion we hear from Columbus sellers.
